O Tree Planting Kereita Forest n 10th October 2024, 🌱 over 5,000 seedlings were successfully planted in Kereita Forest, forming the southern tip of the Aberdare Ranges, a crucial water catchment for Nairobi’s water supply πŸ’§. The tree planting event was a collaborative effort led by the Rotary Clubs of Nairobi Muthaiga North and Nairobi Langata, along with key partners including the Kenya Forest Service (KFS) 🌳, the Kenya Forestry Research Institute (KEFRI) 🌲, the Centre for Ecosystem Restoration, Foundation Frankilinia, The Global Biodiversity Standard, and the UN Decade for Ecosystem Restoration 🌍. The trees were planted adjacent to a previous project by RC Nairobi Muthaiga North, further contributing to the conservation and restoration of the vital ecosystem.
